All visits to the salon should be laid back and fun. JC's Funky Hair Ranch definitely takes the cake! I love the stylists & atmosphere where everyone's "family" whether customer or stylist. I love it!! They are great with young children too!! Definitely my FAVORITE place in town!!!
Well been looking for a new stylist. Last one was real flaky. Nice to see a place that acts professional, easy going, and feel at home while there. No rush, and attention to detail is why I am going back to JC's. Highly recommend.
The staff is wonderful
I went to JC’s to get styled for my nieces wedding. The bridesmaids had all decided to wear their hair to the side. My hair is a little on the shorter side and so I told JC that even if it just appeared to be swept to the side I would be fine with this. While he styled my hair he told me of all of the hair shows he’d been too and all of the shops that he owned. I thought to myself, this should be really good. When he turned me to finally face the mirror and said “what do you think?” My first thought was “are you done?” It was clear that he was in fact finished and I was less than happy. I wish I had taken a photo but the best description I can give you is something along the lines of a parakeet that got caught in a hurricane. I had two braids across the back of my head that then created two small rat tail like ponytails on the side of my head with a third stringy piece of hair just falling down. The rest of my hair was swept to the side alright but just laying there with no pins and barely any product to hold it in place which in retrospect was perhaps a blessing. I almost cried imagining my hairstyle in my nieces wedding album for eternity. While her day is not about me I did not want to be the laughing stock at her wedding.
Husband has been going for years. Loves it.
To add further insult to injury the fantastic hairstyle from the OWNER was a whopping $60. To say that I was mad would be an understatement. When I got to the church the photographer took one look and said "um…wow…let’s see if we can do something about that." My aunt saw it and just simply said, “well that just looks like sh**.” So off we went to redo my $60 hairdo. I had no supplies so it was challenging but I daresay my hair was much better after my aunt did it than it was from the master stylist. I hear that the other two stylists at this establishment are fabulous but if you are ever thinking to yourself that more money means a better end result don’t bother with having JC do your hair.
UPDATE, May 31, 2016 - I have added some pictures of the sweet dog and puppy you can find at JC's Funky Hair Ranch. The puppy Wyatt is not always onsite, so if it is your desire to play with the dog / puppy, call ahead and confirm. The dogs are people friendly and loved to be played with. I am taking my daughter next time I cut my hair as she loves dogs and will be a thrill for her to enjoy her time with Nellie Roo (name of dog).
